Materials & Finishes Guide
The Science of Premium Joinery
A premium design is only as good as the substrates and hardware holding it together. We believe in complete transparency. This educational guide explains the materials, cores, and surface coatings we process in our Jaipur factory, helping you select the correct options for your longevity and budget requirements.
The Structural Core
The substrate dictates how your modular cabinetry will handle moisture, weight loading, and screw retention. We never cut corners by using cheap particle boards in wet zones.
B2B Fact: 90% of cabinet sagging issues stem from using non-calibrated boards or incorrect density MDF in load-bearing zones.
BWP Marine Plywood
Boiling Water Proof (BWP) calibrated plywood is the gold standard for high-moisture zones. Resists wood-boring insects, warping, and direct water contact.
- 100% Water Resistant
- High screw-holding capacity
- Extremely durable
- Higher cost profile
HDHMR (High Density High Moisture Resistant)
An engineered board made by blending wood fibers with moisture-resistant resins under extreme pressure. Highly stable substrate with superior density compared to standard MDF.
- Moisture resistant
- Perfect flat surface for painting
- Termite resistant
- Slightly heavier than plywood
MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard)
Engineered wood panel processed from fine wood fibers. While excellent for dry interior carving and modular office panels, standard MDF should never be used near water.
- Smooth routed profiles possible
- Highly cost-effective
- Uniform density
- Low water resistance (swells on contact)
Premium Surface Finishes
From high-gloss modern reflections to organic, book-matched natural wood textures.
High-Gloss Acrylic
A non-toxic, synthetic plastic sheet that gives a mirror-like high-gloss finish. Highly scratch-resistant and does not fade over time.
High-Pressure Laminate (HPL)
Multi-layered paper pressed with resins under extreme heat. Available in matte, glossy, and realistic wood textures. The most durable and budget-friendly choice.
Natural Wood Veneer
Paper-thin slices of actual hardwood (Teak, Walnut, Oak) pressed onto a plywood base. Finished with Italian PU coat to preserve natural wood grain textures.
PU (Polyurethane) Lacquer
A high-end spray coating providing a seamless matte or high-gloss colored finish with zero visible joints. Resists yellowing and impacts.
German Hardware & Edge Banding
We partner directly with leading B2B hardware giants—Hettich, Blum, and Hafele—to install soft-close systems, telescopic guides, and corner pull-outs.
Hot-Melt PUR Edge Banding
In our factory, edge banding is applied on German Homag machines using high-temperature polyurethane (PUR) hot-melt adhesives. This makes the board seams completely moisture-proof and prevents edge peeling.
concealed Hinge Integrations
Concealed soft-close cabinet hinges tested to withstand 100,000 opening cycles without door drop or misalignment.
Substrate Selection Matrix
